Canadiens vs Blue Jackets Pickswise Expert Predictions

Game Totals Pick
Under 6.5(-120)

The Montreal Canadiens make their first trip to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets. It’s been a rough few games for the Habs– they’ve lost 3 in a row and have been outscored 15-3 in that span– and the task doesn’t get any easier. In the last few days, they’ve lost Alex Newhook and Kirby Dach to long-term injuries. Their power-play is 0-for-17, and their five-on-five goals have dried up. To make matters even worse, both their goaltenders have struggled to keep the puck out of their net.

On the flip side, the Blue Jackets have won 2 of their last 5 games and are 4-3-1 at home. Their offence is middle-of-the-pack, but the real concern is how many shots they allow. Opponents average just over 31 per game, which is just too much. The Canadiens are at the bottom of the league in shots per game, so maybe that becomes a moot point tonight. Jakub Dobes will get the start for his team, and he’s been solid for the majority of the year. While both teams are capable of giving up goals, we’ll take a small lean on the Under.

Canadiens vs Blue Jackets Prediction: Under 6.0 (-120) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number or better.
