Game Totals Pick
Over 5.5(-135)

The Vegas Golden Knights and New York Rangers are set for a Sunday night matchup at Madison Square Garden. The Golden Knights are coming off a 3-0 victory over the Devils on Friday, but that could say more about New Jersey than Vegas. The Devils are in the midst of a 5-game losing streak and have scored just 1 total goal over their last 3 games. Vegas goaltender Akira Schmid recorded a 24-save shutout in the win, but he allowed 10 total goals in his 3 starts before that. He’s struggled with consistency filling in for the injured Adin Hill, and with Carter Hart day-to-day with an upper body injury, it seems likely that Schmid is between the pipes for this one.

With Igor Shesterkin getting the starting nod for New York on Saturday night, that means we will most likely see Jonathan Quick in net for the Rangers. Quick has been effective when utilized this season, but he will be making his first start since November 22 after spending the last few weeks on injured reserve with a lower body injury. He could still be feeling the effects from the injury, and Vegas has plenty of offensive firepower to take advantage. Given the relative question marks for both goaltenders, look to the over in this one.

Golden Knights vs Rangers prediction: Over 5.5 (-135) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
