🏟️ NFL MVP Candidates for 2025-26: Who are the Favorites?

As shown in our NFL MVP odds table above, all of the top NFL MVP candidates are quarterbacks. Below we will provide further information about each of NFL MVP favorites:

Lamar Jackson NFL MVP Odds (+550)

Lamar Jackson is join betting favorite for the NFL MVP award this season. Jackson is the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens and is coming off a season where he was the runner-up for the NFL MVP. During the 2024-25 season, Jackson threw for 4,172 passing yards, 41 passing touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He also totaled 915 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns.

Although the Ravens lost to the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round 27-25, he performed extremely well throughout the entire season, and if he can put up numbers this year, the Baltimore QB will be right back in the mix for the NFL MVP for the third time in his career. His current NFL MVP odds are +550 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Josh Allen NFL MVP Odds (+550)

The second of the NFL MVP favorites is Josh Allen. Allen is the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills and won the award last season. He posted 3,731 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns and 6 interceptions during the 2024-25 season while tallying 531 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.

He and the Bills have been so close to making a Super Bowl, but they came up short once again in the AFC Championship, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 32-29. Allen will aim to win the MVP in back-to-back seasons, which was last done by Aaron Rodgers from 2020 to 2022. His NFL MVP odds are +550 at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Joe Burrow NFL MVP Odds (+650)

Joe Burrow has the third-shortest NFL MVP odds, and the Cincinnati Bengals QB won last year’s Comeback Player of the Year Award. Last year, Burrow threw for 4,918 passing yards, 43 passing touchdowns and 9 interceptions in addition to 201 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. He led the league in passing TDs and yards, so it was a phenomenal season for Burrow.

Although he had a great season, the Bengals were just 9-8 and failed to make the playoffs. If Burrow can replicate his 2024-25 stats while leading the Bengals to an AFC North title, he will definitely be in the mix for the NFL MVP. His current NFL odds are +650 at Caesars Sportsbook.

Patrick Mahomes NFL MVP Odds (+700)

You don’t often see Patrick Mahomes outside the top 3 for NFL MVP odds, but that’s where the Kansas City Chiefs QB finds himself entering the 2025-26 season. Mahomes recorded 3,928 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns and 11 interceptions to go with 307 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.

Mahomes had a mediocre season by his standards, but the Chiefs still made the Super Bowl and were the #1 seed in the AFC. However, he’ll need to improve his numbers if he wants to compete for the NFL MVP this season. Mahomes’ current NFL MVP odds are +700 at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Jayden Daniels NFL MVP Odds (+750)

Fifth on the current NFL MVP odds list is sophomore quarterback Jayden Daniels, who is the play caller for the Washington Commander. Daniels won the Offensive Rookie of the Year during the 2024-25 season, as he recorded 3,568 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns and 9 interceptions. On top of that, the rookie QB totaled 891 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns.

The LSU product is the youngest player on this list, but if he improves his passing numbers this year while leading the Washington Commanders to an NFC East crown, he will have a great chance of winning the 2025-26 NFL MVP. The current NFL MVP odds for Jayden Daniels are +750 at bet365 Sportsbook.

👀 NFL MVP 2025-26: Longshot Candidates to Watch

One of the NFL MVP candidates that could be considered a longshot is Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love.  The Packers QB missed 2 games last season due to injury, but he still recorded 3,389 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Those numbers aren’t too far off from Mahomes, and I expect him to improve this season. Additionally, if he leads the Packers to an NFC North crowd over the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears, he will be worthy of the 2025-26 NFL MVP.

🤓 How We Make Our NFL MVP 2025-26 Predictions

We make our NFL MVP betting predictions by simply looking at the NFL MVP candidates’ stats from the previous season and whether the team made any major moves during the offseason. If the players we look at had a great season the prior year, it could mean that they are ready to take the next step and potentially win this award.

🤔 How the NFL MVP is Decided

The NFL MVP award is voted on by a panel of 50 sportswriters at the end of the regular season. This means the playoffs are not taken into account, only the regular season. The player who receives the most votes will be named the NFL MVP the day before the Super Bowl.

📊 Trends & Statistics for the NFL MVP

Some of the statistics that go into the current NFL MVP odds include the previous season’s passing stats, passing touchdowns and interceptions. For running backs, this would be rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, and with wide receivers, this would be receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

On 11 occasions, the NFL MVP winner has gone on to win the Super Bowl that same season, most recently Patrick Mahomes in 2023-24.

🙂 Teams With the Most NFL MVP Winners

Below is a table of the top three teams who have won the most NFL MVP Awards:

🥇 Who Has Won the NFL MVP Most Often?

Peyton Manning has won the NFL MVP award the most often. He has won this award five times, four of which with the Indianapolis Colts (2003, 2004, 2008 and 2009) and once with the Denver Broncos (2013).

Aaron Rodgers is in second place with four NFL MVP awards, all coming with the Green Bay Packers (2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021).
