The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are having a down year, sitting 2-4 overall with one of those wins coming in surprise fashion at home against then-undefeated Duke. For this matchup in particular, Georgia Tech’s strength attacks Boston College’s weakness. Boston College gives up 159.5 rushing yards per game, and the Yellow Jackets possess a rushing attack capable of explosive, chunk plays downfield. The passing game has been much improved as the season has gone on under Alberto Mendoza, though the Eagles have a stout secondary.
Outside of Week 1, scoring hasn’t been an issue in the Yellow Jackets' losses. On the other hand, the Boston College offense wouldn’t exactly be described as “electric.” If Georgia Tech is able to force the Eagles into passing situations, covering a four-point spread could come easy. BC ranks 107th in passing efficiency while GT ranks top-three nationally in passing-down PPA defensively. Furthermore, the Eagles have a bottom-20 scoring offense and haven’t proven they can keep up with a well-rounded offensive approach like Georgia Tech boasts. I’ve got the Yellow Jackets covering at home.
