The Dawgs looked Dawg-esque again against their archrival last weekend when they splattered Florida, and that's bad news for Ole Miss. The Bulldogs have always been at their best when they can establish the run, control the line of scrimmage and let their defense dictate proceedings. That's exactly the kind of football I expect them to bring into Oxford.
I understand this is a massive game for Ole Miss and Trinidad Chambliss has demonstrated that he can deliver in big moments. The Rebels have the offensive firepower to cause problems for just about anybody, but Georgia isn't just anybody. Oh and the Dawgs? They have a man named Gunner Stockton, who can also rise to the big moments, too. On the other side, the Bulldogs have demonstrated their ability to bottle up even the most potent offenses with a relentless, fly-to-the-football defensive mentality. They don't need to completely shut down Ole Mis; they need to make the Rebels work for their points and prevent Chambliss from getting comfortable. I am pretty sure Chris Cole and Gabe Harris can do that fairly easily.
Offensively, Georgia has the playmaking ability behind its offensive line to establish the ground game and produce points when required. That's the difference for me. Ole Miss can certainly make it a game of things especially at The Grove, but I trust Georgia's physicality, coaching and defense more than I trust the Rebels to consistently overcome them. We're not asking the Bulldogs to win by a touchdown. We're asking them to win by a field goal plus the hook. I am happy to take it up to -4.5, though. Best Bet material.
Georgia vs Ole Miss best bet: Georgia Bulldogs -3.5 (+100) available at time of publishing. Playable to -4.5.
