Indiana vs Rutgers Prediction, Odds and NCAAF Picks for Tomorrow

I think this is finally the game where Indiana covers, but I'm still not interested in laying 25 points on the road. The better question is whether the Hoosiers can clobber Rutgers while keeping this game under 56 points. That's plausible. Indiana's defense has been a monster for the most part, including pitching back-to-back shutouts before Northwestern finally gave the Hoosiers a scare last week. IU escaped that game 29-23, but that nail-biter should serve as a wake-up call for Cignetti and company rather than something I'm expecting to become the norm. Now they get Rutgers.

We're not far removed from watching the Scarlet Knights get smoked by UMass in New Brunswick, but a rout of Howard preceded by hard-fought losses against Virginia Tech and USC have made that moment a distant memory. The problem is for the Knights that from a composite perspective this is a significantly tougher assignment then all the others combined. Indiana's offense is certainly capable of going off here, but the Hoosiers are also capable of holding Rutgers to minimal scoring. That's the key. For this game to reach 56, we're probably going to need one of two things: Rutgers contributes enough to create a legitimate shootout, or Indiana decides to hang something approaching 60 on the Scarlet Knights itself. I don't particularly like either scenario. With B1G play getting into full swing after this tilt, running up an unnecessary emphatic score doesn't need to be Indiana's priority. The Hoosiers can dominate without this becoming a track meet. The under offers the best position here.
