MACtion is back in full swing this week, as we have two Tuesday games and three Wednesday games, including the Toledo Rockets at the Sacramento State Hornets. The schedule makers have not been kind to Sac State in their first year in the conference, giving them a very quick Friday-to-Wednesday short week. But at least they don’t have to fly across the country this week. Toledo last played on October 24, so they had a long break. That makes Toledo very heavy favorites in this game, and this line is probably pretty close to on the mark. I am going to play the game total over 52.5 here, looking for a classic midweek MAC shootout.
Toledo is sitting in the top part of the standings that are quite crowded with 1-loss teams. They have been very productive on offense most of the year, with only Buffalo having much success slowing them down. The attack has been balanced too. Sac State, on the other hand, has really struggled on both sides of the ball. They have been blown out most weeks, and they have especially struggled to score. They have some pieces to work with, and I think they will find some success eventually, so maybe back-to-back home games can help get them there. Toledo will do most of the scoring work here, if we can get a little help from the Hornets. Let’s play the over.
