We have Thursday night Pac-12 action as the Texas State Bobcats host the Colorado State Rams. Both teams have struggled through the first half of the season, playing to 2-3 marks and 0-1 in conference play, so this is a key spot for both squads. Both are also coming off a bye week as they turn around for this mid-week tilt. The story of this game though is the absurdly high point total. Pro bettors immediately blitzed this line, and it is all the way up to 71.5. You just never see that, and the fact that this line exists has me wanting to play it. Let’s take the over and just have a great time on Thursday.
The concern for the Rams is that their starting QB is likely to miss another game. His backup has been good, but trying to keep pace with one of the nation’s most prolific scoring offenses is a lot to ask from the second man up. Speaking of prolific offense, Texas State is all offense, fast-paced, and up and down the field in a hurry. The issue in this game is that neither team can play any semblance of defense. There is little doubt that this game will have a ton of offense, and both teams can push the pace. As long as drives don’t stall out in the red zone, even this ridiculous line might not be high enough.
Colorado State vs Texas State prediction: Over 71.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable to 73.5.
