Coventry cruised to the Championship title last season but they have found life in the Premier League much harder and have become only the fifth side in English top-flight history to lose their opening four matches of the season without even scoring a goal.
While promoted Hull and Ipswich have both had moments to celebrate in the early weeks of the season, Coventry have shown very little and are desperate to gain a much-needed boost before the international break.
Defeats on the road to Arsenal and Manchester City can be excused but they have also lost 1-0 at home to Hull, while the manner of last Sunday’s 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Brighton will no doubt concern Sky Blues fans.
Coventry head coach Frank Lampard still has plenty to prove as a Premier League manager, especially after his struggles at Everton, and Coventry’s pointless start to the season has only intensified the belief that he is not up to operating at this level.
A 3-1 defeat at home to Aston Villa in the EFL Cup on Wednesday has made matters worse for the Sky Blues and it is hard to see their fortunes changing at Nottingham Forest, who are slowly acclimatizing to the methods of head coach Oliver Glasner.
Forest have the advantage of having additional rest and they were fully deserving of last weekend’s 2-1 success at Aston Villa, where they won the shot count 22 to seven.
That came on the back of respectable draws away to Liverpool at Anfield and at home to Tottenham, who failed to register a shot on target at the City Ground.
Forest look the much better team than Coventry at this stage, and with home advantage, the Tricky Trees should add to Lampard's misery.
