CWS vs HOU Prediction, Odds and MLB Picks for Today

At the price on offer, the White Sox are too good to pass up. Make no mistake, Hunter Brown of the Astros is a good pitcher. I'm not trying to manufacture a reason to fade him. But when Chicago counters with Sean Burke, who won 11 games this season, I don't see enough separation to justify Chicago being priced this long. That's especially true when we consider the teams, themselves.

For some reason, it still hasn't completely sunk in that the White Sox deserve to be playing in October. Houston has become one of baseball's postseason mainstays, so seeing the Astros at home naturally carries weight in the market. Chicago doesn't have that reputation. But reputation isn't what we're betting. The White Sox were the better team across the regular season, and they reinforced that point by taking Game 1 of this series 6-3. Would Chicago beating Houston twice in succession feel strange? Not really. And I'm not going to let Houston's name convince me that the White Sox suddenly become the inferior side after proving otherwise throughout the season and again Tuesday. Burke gives Chicago enough on the mound. The offense gives him enough behind him. At +141, I'll roll with the team that's been better and let the chips fall where they may. I think the White Sox get this done in H-Town tonight.
