We've got a healthy 12-game slate of NBA action on Friday night, and I'm starting my NBA parlay by backing the Celtics to beat the Knicks. Both of these teams lost on Opening Night, but Boston was dominating Detroit before a fourth-quarter collapse. While that could weigh on their minds, it also highlighted how hot this Celtics team can get when they're clicking. With their first home game of the season on and fanbase behind them against a rival, I expect Boston to pick up the win tonight and deliver the reigning-champion Knicks an 0-2 record.
Next, I'm taking the Spurs to bounce back from their Opening Night defeat and for them to beat the Rockets. While San Antonio got hammered by OKC, this matchup with Houston presents a far more straightforward challenge. Plus, the Spurs have the benefit of remaining at home and getting an extra night's rest. Victor Wembanyama went 1-for-13 from the field against the Thunder, and I expect him to hit back and then some at the Rockets' expense.
To round off our Friday NBA parlay, we're heading to California where I'm predicting a shootout in the Battle of LA between the Clippers and Lakers. The Clippers looked hot in their opening game, beating the Kings 121-96, with Darius Garland showing out in a big way. The Lakers delivered a similarly dominant performance, crushing the Warriors with Luka Doncic doing what Luka Doncic does. Both teams have mega upside on offense, and with no fatigue expected for this one, I'm expecting the Clippers and Lakers to come out hot, scoring buckets all night long.
