The Golden State Warriors return home for the second night of a back to back, but the scheduling spot may not be as concerning as it appears. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green were rested in Sunday's win over the Clippers specifically to have both veterans available for this matchup, allowing Golden State to extend its winning streak while keeping its stars fresh. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg also continued his sensational start to the season with another standout performance, giving the Warriors another reliable scoring option alongside Curry. Golden State has now won four consecutive games and appears to be finding its rhythm after an uneven start to the year.
Phoenix enters looking to snap a two game losing streak after falling to Denver, and while Devin Booker remains the focal point of the offense, the Suns have struggled to consistently generate scoring outside of their top options. They already defeated Golden State once this season, but that victory came with Curry, Green, and several other key Warriors resting. This is a much different Golden State team, one that has rediscovered its defensive identity while receiving significant contributions throughout the rotation. Even though the Warriors are technically playing on no rest, their veteran core should be much fresher than a typical back to back situation thanks to Sunday's planned workload management. With Chase Center behind them and momentum continuing to build, Golden State is well-positioned to avenge its earlier loss to Phoenix. Expect the Warriors to control the game with their defensive intensity, create enough offense behind Curry and their improved supporting cast, and earn another home victory.
Suns vs Warriors Prediction: Warriors -3 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable to -4
