Last season saw a titanic battle between Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen to be named NFL MVP, and while Jackson put up some of his best career numbers, he was unable to stop the Bills signal-caller from claiming the honors. This season should see Jackson and Allen go toe-to-toe to be named NFL MVP once again, while the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow also figure to be in the mix. Let’s break down the latest NFL odds for the MVP market before getting into my NFL picks and NFL best bets for the award.

After last year’s battle, Jackson and Allen find themselves tied at the top of the oddsboard to be your 2025 MVP. Allen is looking to go back-to-back and Lamar is looking to win his 2nd MVP award in 3 years. Also high on the list we see Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes and Jayden Daniels round off the top 5. The top 18 names on the list are all quarterbacks, which is unsurprising given that a QB has won the award every year since 2006.

NFL MVP Best Bet: Joe Burrow, QB, Bengals (+650)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Joe Burrow has not yet won an MVP award. Last season, he made a serious case for being the best QB in the league. Despite that, his defense performed so poorly that it cost him both a trip to the playoffs with the Bengals and truly being in contention for the award. This feels like the year that Cincinnati returns to the postseason and shows why they made a Super Bowl appearance just a few years ago. Burrow has acknowledged that he feels the best he’s ever felt and that he’s entirely healthy. Last year, the star signal-caller threw for 4,918 yards with 43 touchdowns and just 9 interceptions. If he can replicate those stats but win 12 games instead of 9, this award should be his.

NFL MVP Longshot Pick: Dak Prescott (+4000)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.
In Dak Prescott’s last fully healthy season, he finished 2nd in MVP voting behind Lamar Jackson. I like this longshot for many reasons. First off, George Pickens is a great complementary piece in that Dallas offense and should take some of the pressure off of CeeDee Lamb. Secondly, Dallas has legitimate defensive concerns. This should lead to the Cowboys needing to pass in all 4 quarters in most games because they may be dragged into shootouts. Lastly, Dallas doesn’t project to have a legitimate run game. I truly think the Cowboys may be a team that has the highest pass percentage of plays in the league. Fighting with the defending champion Eagles and emerging Commanders will be tough in the NFC East, but Dak has shown he can be elite. At +4000 odds, this feels worth taking a shot on.
