2026 MLB World Series predictions and odds

New York Yankees starting pitcher Max Fried (54) pitches in the first inning against the Baltimore Orioles at Yankee Stadium.

The 2025 World Series was nothing short of epic, capped off by an absolutely unbelievable Game 7 in which the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 in 11 innings. Toronto could not have come any closer – multiple times, in fact – to lifting the trophy. Alas, the American League champions now have to wait 12 more months before potentially getting their hands on it.

Now that the season is fully in the books, it’s time to start looking ahead toward 2026. Will the Dodgers 3-peat? Can the Blue Jays bounce back? Are the New York Yankees poised to end their title drought?

Let’s take a look at the odds and the best early bets to make for next year.

2026 World Series odds

Los Angeles Dodgers +370
New York Yankees +750
Philadelphia Phillies +1100
Houston Astros +1300
Seattle Mariners +1300
New York Mets +1500
Boston Red Sox +1600
Atlanta Braves +1600
Milwaukee Brewers +2000
Toronto Blue Jays +2000
San Diego Padres +2000
Chicago Cubs +2200
Detroit Tigers +2500
Cleveland Guardians +3000
Baltimore Orioles +3000
Texas Rangers +3000

2026 World Series best bet: New York Yankees +750

The Yankees may not have made it back to the World Series in 2025, but they are still right there in the mix. Manager Aaron Boone’s club tied Toronto for first place in the American League East at 94-68 and beat the Boston Red Sox in the wild-card round before being ousted by the Blue Jays. Keep in mind that New York did this without Gerrit Cole, who missed the season following Tommy John surgery. If Cole comes back well and Cam Schlittler performs any close to how he did against Boston in the playoffs, the pitching rotation will be lethal with Max Fried at the top. It’s also worth noting that – at least on paper – the path to a title is considerably easier through the American League than in the National League.

2026 World Series longshot pick: Chicago Cubs +2200

The NL is stacked, but the Central is where you want to be compared to the East and the West. There is no reason why the Cubs can’t win the division, which would set them up well for a postseason run. It is true that the Milwaukee Brewers were great in 2025, but they got exposed by the Dodgers in the playoffs. Chicago took a positive step forward by making the playoffs, in which it advanced a round and then pushed top-seeded Milwaukee to 5 games. Manager Craig Counsell’s team arguably overachieved despite all kinds of injuries to the pitching staff. If Cade Horton and Justin Steele can get healthy and stay that way, watch out. This team is young and on the rise.
