Super Bowl 56 is almost here, with the Los Angeles Rams playing on their own field against the surprising Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium. Here at Pickswise we have an abundance of articles on the many betting markets that you can play for the final game of the NFL season, including player props. That is the focus of this article: player props on the Bengals’ rookie sensation Ja’Marr Chase, in particular. Chase, named the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year on Thursday, has been everything and more that the Bengals could have hoped for when they drafted him with the 5th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Let’s dive in, but make sure you also check out our Super Bowl hub for tons of best bets and picks for the big game.

Pre-season rumors that Chase was having trouble adapting to catching footballs at the NFL level have proved to be greatly exaggerated. There was a huge debate in the offseason over whether the Bengals should draft tackle Penei Sewell to shore up their turnstile of an offensive line and protect their franchise QB Joe Burrow, or instead draft Chase — who was Burrow’s college teammate at LSU.

There aren’t many members of Team Sewell continuing to make the case that Cincinnati made the wrong decision with the 5th pick — even though the Bengals’ offensive line remains a cause for concern.

Chase had come to grips with hauling in NFL balls by the time the season started and caught 81 of them for 1,455 yards in the regular season, scoring 13 touchdowns. He has added an additional 279 yards from 3 playoff games, with game totals of  116 against the Raiders, 109 against the Titans, and 54 (including a TD) against the Chiefs.

His receiving yards line for the Super Bowl has been set at a reasonable 78.5, and the over looks worth taking whether or not you think the Bengals can pull off an upset victory. If they do, the Burrow to Chase connection will surely have to be a large part of their success. And even if the Bengals struggle, the one path they will take to try to rescue the situation will surely be to look for their star man. Take Chase to lead the way for the Bengals offense in victory or defeat.
