We are in the home stretch of the NBA regular season and there will be no shortage of exciting matchups this Friday as 20 teams hit the hardwood. NBA TV will have a triple-header for us, starting from 7.30 pm ET when the Heat and Cavs square off. At 8 pm ET we have the Bulls vs Thunder duel, while at 10 pm ET the Mavs and Trail Blazers collide.
I’ve gone in-depth with all 10 games, coming up with an NBA Best Bets for every single match-up. Odds are courtesy of FanDuel, you can also check out our expert NBA Picks for this huge slate of games, but let’s go over my selections first!
Clippers vs Pacers Best Bet: Pacers +9.5 (-114)
Before the season is over the Pacers have 5 home games left, I see them winning at least one of those. Friday could be the ideal opportunity, as the other four teams they’re facing are Miami, Minnesota, Philadelphia and Detroit. They put up 130 on the Lakers and 128 points on the Magic in their last two games, let’s hope they can get a positive result here.
Heat vs Cavaliers Best Bet: Cavaliers -5 (-106)
A good revenge spot for the Cavaliers. It’s hard to imagine a team led by Harden and Mitchell have consecutive bad offensive games against the same opponent. The Cavs are 7-2 SU in 9 meetings, Miami’s collapse in the 3rd quarter tells us they still have issues despite ending the losing streak on Wednesday.
Hawks vs Celtics Best Bet: Hawks +5 (-114)
Atlanta will be encouraged following their OT win at Detroit the other day. They’ve now won 14 of 15 games, while in head-to-head meetings they’re also 5-2 SU in the last 7 and have covered in 6 of the last 8 vs Boston. In their last 5 visits to TD Garden they’re 5-1 ATS as well.
Bulls vs Thunder Best Bet: Bulls +20.5 (-114)
I am not a big fan of backing teams to blow out opponents just like that. As bad as the Bulls have been, it’s kind of disrespectful to have them as 20.5 point underdogs here. They lost the first meeting by only 8 points in early March, while in their last 5 games overall they’ve scored 130+ points 3 times.
Rockets vs Grizzlies Best Bet: Jabari Smith Over 14.5 Points (-112)
Jabari Smith is averaging 16.5 points per game over his last 10 outings, while shooting an efficient 45.5% from the field. Not too bad for only the 4th scoring option on this Rockets team. He’s cleared this line 7 times in 10 games, the Grizzlies aren’t in the best of shapes defensively. They allow the 5th most points to opposing PFs this season and the 8th most points overall as a team.
Pelicans vs Raptors Best Bet: Under 228.5 (-110)
Two teams that love to put in the effort on the defensive end. The under has cashed 13 times in 19 games for Toronto and in 6 of 8 for the Pelicans. This bet has also returned a profit 4 times in 5 meetings at Scotiabank Arena and also in 8 of the last 12 meetings overall.
Jazz vs Nuggets Best Bet: Aaron Gordon 2+ Made Threes (-147)
The Nuggets would be smart to get Aaron Gordon going offensively here, they won’t get too many opportunities to play tanking teams until the season is over. Utah allows the most threes as a team this season, Gordon has cleared this line 3 times in his last 5 games.
Wizards vs Warriors Best Bet: Kristaps Porzingis Over 18.5 Points (-114)
Porzingis went hard the last time he played his former team, scoring 30 points on an efficient 8-for-13 from the field. He’s cleared this line in 3 of 4 meetings with the Wizards, Golden State needs a big game from him to get an important win here.
Mavericks vs Trail Blazers Best Bet: Jerami Grant Over 17.5 Points (-135)
Grant has been cooking on offense lately, scoring at least 18 points 13 times in 20 games played. He should have another high scoring game against the tanking Mavs who allow the 7th most points to opposing PFs this season and also rank 7th for points allowed as a team.
Nets vs Lakers Best Bet: Nets +16.5 (-112)
Lakers are coming back home after a two week trip where they went 5-1 SU. Luka Doncic is questionable to play, so are Marcus Smart and Rui Hachimura. The Nets, although pretty bad at the moment, have been on the West coast for a while and they just gave the Warriors a hard time losing only by 3 points. If Luka doesn’t play the Nets could make the Lakers players lives a bit difficult here.
