Best NBA Bets Today: Odds & Picks for every game on Saturday, January 24

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (23) and guard Luka Doncic (77) celebrate after a play during the third quarter against the Charlotte Hornets at Crypto.com Arena.
Long-time NBA fan, following the game closely for 21 years now. Joined the Pickswise writing staff for the 2020-21 season and have given out winning picks since. Hopefully we can make some money together! Oh, and I firmly believe Lebron James is not one of the two best basketball players of all time. Yeah, I said it. It promises to be yet another thrilling weekend of NBA action with a total of 7 games being played this Saturday. The games are spread out evenly throughout the day, starting as early as 12 pm ET. ABC will have a triple-header which includes Knicks vs Sixers (3 pm ET), Warriors vs Timberwolves (5.30 pm ET) and Lakers vs Mavericks (8.30 pm ET).

I’ve gone through all 7 games being played today and have prepared a NBA Best Bet for every single one of them. Odds are courtesy of FanDuel, be sure to check our in-depth picks on the side and total on our NBA Picks page, but for now let’s focus on my bets!

Wizards vs Hornets Best Bet: Hornets -10.5 (110)

Charlotte annihilated the Wizards in both meetings earlier this season, scoring 139 and 126 points. LaMelo Ball stood out in those two games averaging 30.5 points, Washington isn’t really trying to win games at the moment.

Knicks vs 76ers Best Bet: Knicks -1 (-105)

The 54 point win over Brooklyn was the tipping point for the Knicks. I expect them to play a lot better moving forward. They lost both meetings vs Philly earlier this season, revenge will be on their minds ahead of Saturday’s game. Both Embiid and George are questionable for Philly, without either of them the Knicks dominate here.

Warriors vs Timberwolves Best Bet: Timberwolves -6 (-114)

Losing Jimmy Butler really deflated the morale of the Warriors who had high hopes for this season. Minnesota is desperate for a win to turn things around, this is the perfect opportunity at home where they are 15-7 SU for the season and currently on a 5-game win streak vs Golden State. As underdogs the Warriors are only 4-7 SU in 11 played.

Cavaliers vs Magic Best Bet: De’Andre Hunter Over 10.5 Points (-112)

Darius Garland is out, expect the role of Hunter to be expanded on offense in this game. He’s cleared this line in 14 of 17 away games this season which equals to a success rate of 82%. Orlando also allows the most points to opposing SFs, making this an ideal game for Hunter.

Celtics vs Bulls Best Bet: Ayo Dosunmu 2+ Made Threes (-118)

Dosunmu is on a roll shooting over 50% from three in January. He’s cleared this line in 8 of 10 games, playing the Celtics who are on a 2nd night of a back-to-back is an ideal scenario for him to add to this run. The Cs rank 4th for threes allowed to opposing PGs as well.

Lakers vs Mavericks Best Bet: Luka Doncic Over 32.5 Points (-125)

Luka playing his old team the Mavs, how could you not back him to have a big game? He dropped 45 in his first visit to Dallas as a Laker, I’m confident he can reach his season average against them on Saturday. He’s done so 5 times in his last 10 games.

Heat vs Jazz Best Bet: Jazz +6.5 (-112)

Miami just had a rough outing in Portland, they could run into issues against a Jazz who play a similar brand of basketball. Keyonte George is on a scoring binge, Miami just 8-15 SU in road games this season, backing Utah is the safer option here in my opinion.
