A total of 5 blowouts, 3 nail-biters and 2 massive upsets happened on Monday in the NBA. The action continues on Tuesday with another 6-game slate, including an NBC doubleheader featuring Heat vs Timberwolves and Mavericks vs Kings. I’ve done my due diligence and analyzed all 6 games, so you don’t have to. Odds are courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook, you can find my NBA best bet for every single game below. As always, we’ve got you covered with NBA picks throughout the month of January and entire season, but for now, let’s break down today’s top picks in the association.

Cavaliers vs Pacers best bet: Sam Merrill (CLE) over 11.5 points (-128)

Donovan Mitchell is likely going to sit this one out, so the Cavs will need a boost from one of their role players here and Merrill is our guy. He’s gone over this line in 13 of 19 games this season, posting career highs across the board. Indiana struggles to defend opposing shooting guards, allowing the 2nd most points to that position this season.

Magic vs Wizards best bet: Desmond Bane 2+ made threes (-186)

Bane just had a 30-piece against the Pacers in an 8-point win and has cleared this line in 20 of 36 games this season. Washington allows the 5th-most threes this season and ranks 3rd for threes allowed to opposing shooting guards.

Spurs vs Grizzlies best bet: Spurs -5.5 (-114)

Memphis has really struggled with 4 losses in a row, allowing 120+ points in 3 consecutive games. San Antonio has won both meetings this season, with De’Aaron Fox playing extremely well in those. They’ve covered in 5 of 6 visits to FedEx Forum, so back them to do so again on Tuesday.

Heat vs Timberwolves best bet: Over 237.5 (-112)

Although at first glance this might look like a lot of points, both the Heat and Timberwolves enter this game ranking top 5 in scoring over their last 5 outings. The over has cashed in 13 of 19 meetings.

Lakers vs Pelicans best bet: Lakers -5 (-110)

Back-to-back wins over Memphis and the Lakers are right back on track. Luka and LeBron each went over 30 points in their latest win, we could see that happen again as soon as Tuesday against a defensively limited Pelicans team. New Orleans has lost 7 games in a row, giving up 120+ in all but one of those games. LA is on an 8 game win streak in head-to-head meetings too.

Mavericks vs Kings best bet: Klay Thompson over 9.5 points (-114)

Klay has been very consistent in road games this season, far more than those at home. He’s cleared this line in 10 of 15 away games, while a little over a week ago he finished with 14 against the Kings in the first meeting of the season. Sacramento’s defense is like Swiss cheese at the moment, allowing the 4th most points in the NBA this season and ranking 3rd for opposing shooting guards scoring.
