It’s a relatively quiet night in the NBA with only 4 games being played, but there will be no shortage of fireworks in the NBC double-header! The action tips of at 8 pm in Cleveland where the Cavs entertain the Orlando Magic, followed by a big clash out West in Phoenix between the Suns and Nuggets.
My NBA Best Bets are available for all four games taking place on Tuesday, odds are courtesy of FanDuel. Don’t forget to go over our NBA Picks for in-depth previews and predictions, but now let’s go over my bets!
Kings vs Hornets Best Bet: Kon Knueppel Over 19.5 Points (+102)
Another 20+ point game would go a long way for Kon Knueppel as he tries to solidify his Rookie of the Year case. The Kings are one of the worst defenses in the league – they rank 2nd for points allowed to SFs and 3rd for points allowed overall. Knueppel had 24 points the last time these two met, shooting the lights out from three making 5 of them on 8 attempts.
Pelicans vs Knicks Best Bet: Jalen Brunson Over 6.5 Assists (-146)
Brunson has hit on this line 9 times in 10 games and in 14 of his last 20. New York’s offense has been clicking during this win streak, particularly in 2 of their last 3 games where they dropped 145 and 136 points. I’m expecting another high scoring game on Tuesday vs the Pels, the first meeting saw 255 points, that should allow Brunson to rack up the assists yet again. New Orleans ranks 9th for assists allowed to PGs this season and 8th for assist allowed overall as a team.
Magic vs Cavaliers Best Bet: Magic +10 (-106)
The Cavaliers have won 3 in a row, but all 3 games were decided by single digits. Their defense has been compromised with the absence of Jarrett Allen. Orlando will be able to punish them on the inside, they rank 10th in points in the paint this season. The Magic are in desperate need of a result here, the sense of urgency to win is far greater in their camp. I’ll take my chances with the Magic plus the double-digit spread.
Nuggets vs Suns Best Bet: Nuggets -5 (-112)
My question here is how do the Phoenix Suns deal with Nikola Jokic? Their starting center Mark Williams is still out injured, it’ll be a challenge dealing with the 3-time MVP down low. In two meetings this season Jokic is averaging a triple-double with his team scoring 130+ and winning both games. The win vs Toronto was a fluke, the Suns just aren’t good right now. I’m taking Denver with confidence.
