The NBA opens the week with a major 10-game slate. The top teams in each of the conferences are in action. The Detroit Pistons, in particular, should be in for an exciting one as they host the red-hot LA Lakers — led by Luka Doncic. The visitors have picked up 9 straight wins but could struggle against the strongest home team in the Eastern Conference.

Best NBA player prop bet: Onyeka Okongwu (ATL) Over 3.5 assists (+135)
Odds available at Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing
Without Trae Young, the Hawks have been spreading the playmaking responsibilities a bit — and Okongwu has picked some of it up. He has hit the over on this line in 4 of his last 5 games. Now he will be up against a Memphis Grizzlies team that is 19th in opponent assists over the last 10 games. They are also short of size at the center position, meaning the Hawks’ big man could see double-teams in the paint. That should allow him to tap into his passing skills and find cutters like Jalen Johnson and Dyson Daniels. The Hawks are top 5 in the league during that stretch, too, in true shooting percentage — so they are unlikely to waste chances.

NBA player prop pick: Gui Santos (GSW) Over 3.5 assists (-105)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing
Another player who has been dishing the ball well lately is Gui Santos. Over the last 10 games, the forward is averaging 4.6 assists per contest. He has been able to hit the over on this line in 6 of his last 8 overall. It has helped that his playing time has jumped to over 32 minutes per game this month. He now faces a Mavericks team that has given up more assists to opponents than any other team in the league during the last 10-game stretch. Santos has a tough matchup against Cooper Flagg and will then have to contend with a rim protector in Daniel Gafford in the paint. That should encourage him to spread the ball around. Expect his run of 4 assists or more to continue in this one.

NBA player prop bet: Darius Garland (LAC) Over 20.5 points (-120)
Odds available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing
Darius Garland has really found his groove for the Los Angeles Clippers. He has scored 21 or more points in 6 of his last 7 games, including 41 points in his last outing against the Mavericks. He will be playing a Milwaukee Bucks team that is down in 27th in defensive rating over the last 10 games. Their core of guards like Ryan Rollins are not known as great on-ball defenders. During that stretch of games, the Bucks are giving up more 3-point attempts to opponents than any other team. With Garland making 49.3% of his shots from deep this month, he should be able to use this to rack up points.
