Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. Cavaliers vs Heat first basket best bet: Evan Mobley (+650)

Over the last 10 games, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been dominating tip-offs thanks to Jarrett Allen. The center has helped them win the opening possession in 80% of those games. He should be able to continue that against Bam Adebayo here. From there, look for the Cavaliers to target their former forward Kevin Love. He has the worst defensive rating of the Heat starters and should struggle dealing with Evan Mobley’s quickness and athleticism, especially if put in pick-and-roll situations.

Mobley is extremely efficient finishing in the paint, ranking 5th in the NBA in restricted area field goal percentage. With a willing passer like Darius Garland running the show, look for Mobley to deliver this game’s first basket.

Nets vs Timberwolves first basket best bet: Rudy Gobert (+390)

Rudy Gobert should tower over Nic Claxton in the tip off tonight, giving him a great chance of securing the Timberwolves the first possession. Do not be surprised to see him go and make the game’s opening basket too. The Frenchman is one of the most efficient finishers around the rim in the NBA. He will be helped by the fact that Claxton is one of the league’s leading shot blockers. He currently ranks 2nd in blocks per game.

Claxton can often get dragged away from his man as he looks to come over as the help defender on drives. It could lead to Gobert finding himself open at the rim. Claxton can also find himself out of position for rebounds thanks to that eagerness to chase blocks. Therefore, the Nets are 26th in opponent offensive rebounds per game this season, giving Gobert a chance of cleaning up a teammate’s miss here.
