Best NBA player prop bets at Caesars Sportsbook today, 3/22: Anthony Davis steps up

Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis (3) in the second half against the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
With Match Madness on a brief hiatus, the NBA will temporarily take center stage in the basketball world once again. We have a 10-game slate in the association on Wednesday, headlined by the Suns vs Lakers game on ESPN at 10:00 pm ET.

I’m Prop Prophet, and I’m here to help you bet better with Pickswise. Let’s get right into my favorite NBA player prop bets for Wednesday that you can find at Caesars Sportsbook, which has the best odds available. Here we go.

Anthony Davis over 25.5 points (-125)

This is a fantastic spot for the Lakers, but it’s an especially good one for Anthony Davis. The Los Angeles big man has a special opportunity to make a bit of career history on Wednesday, as he needs just 16 points to move up five spots on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. This shouldn’t be too difficult of a task, as the 30-year-old is averaging nearly 26 points per game this season and just over 26 points per game over his last 8 starts.

Needing to shoulder the scoring load in a game the Lakers have to win to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff chase, I expect a massive effort from Davis here. Furthermore, his task shouldn’t be a difficult one, as the Suns will be missing starting center DeAndre Ayton, leaving a hole in the paint that Davis should be able to exploit throughout the game.

Michael Porter Jr. over 2.5 three-pointers made (-120)

The Nuggets are on the road once again, which means we’ll be targeting the over on Michael Porter Jr.’s three-pointers made prop. Porter Jr. has cleared this number in nearly 75% of the Nuggets’ road games this season with Nikola Jokic on the court, and there’s no reason to expect that trend to dissipate against the Wizards on Wednesday.

Denver has been struggling mightily recently, having dropped 5 of their last 7 games and loosening their grip just a bit on the top seed in the Western Conference. However, one thing has been constant during this stretch, and it’s been the shooting of Porter Jr. The versatile wing is shooting just over 50% from the floor on nearly 12 attempts per game over the last 6 contests, so the volume and efficiency are clearly there on a nightly basis. Expect him to get plenty of good looks from downtown against a Wizards team that is 20th in defensive rating this season.
