It is Selection Sunday, but don’t forget about the NBA. There is a 6-game slate in the association, which includes a 9:00 pm ET showdown on ESPN between the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers. The schedule is also bookended by a 3:00 pm ET tip featuring the Brooklyn Nets and Denver Nuggets. All in all, there is plenty of action to whet the appetites of NBA fans and bettors.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (DEN) Over 1.5 3-pointers (+100)

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has drained multiple 3-pointers in 5 of the Nuggets’ last 10 games, including at least 3 on 3 occasions. This stretch includes a 4-for-4 effort from downtown at the Cleveland Cavaliers’ expense and 3-for-6 marksmanship from the land of plenty on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs. It should also be noted that KCP has logged at least 30 minutes in 6 consecutive contests, including 37 against San Antonio and 36 while facing the Toronto Raptors on Monday. He is getting plenty of work in Denver’s rotation and for the most part is capitalizing on the opportunities.
Up next for KCP and company is Brooklyn, which is in the middle of the pack in terms of 3-pointers allowed per game and 6th-to-last in opponents’ 3-point shooting percentage. The Nets have played at the 7th-fastest pace in the league over the last 3 games, which will help maximize the number of possessions in this game and enhance the stat sheet for everyone involved.

Bradley Beal (WAS) Over 34.5 points + rebounds + assists (-110)

We are getting a relatively low number here because of the opponent. The Philadelphia 76ers are #3 in the NBA in scoring defense, but their 111.0 opponents’ ppg average has ballooned to a ridiculous 123.8 ppg over the past 5 outings. That doesn’t include a single overtime, either. As such, I’m not concerned at all about the matchup or about Beal’s ability to exceed this quota.
The 76ers have a done a nice job against Beal so far this season, but – again – their defense has been a disaster of late and Beal is in particularly fine form. The former Florida star has exceeded this 34.5 PRA number in 4 straight games and has delivered at least 38 PRA on 3 of those occasions. This run includes 33, 9 and 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks and 32, 7 and 7 against the Detroit Pistons. With Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis also red hot of late, Beal’s assist numbers should continue to thrive as part of his overall box-score bonanza.
