Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. There are 8 games on the NBA slate tonight with an exciting double header on NBA TV for us to enjoy. To begin the night the Los Angeles Clippers will be visiting the Brooklyn Nets. It will be the first game for the hosts since the Kyrie Irving trade. It will be interesting to see what the atmosphere will be around the Barclays Center. That will be followed up by the Milwaukee Bucks trip to Portland to take on the Trail Blazers. Over the last week Damian Lillard has averaged 38.3 points per game but that has been topped by Giannis Antetokounmpo who is averaging 41 over that stretch. It should be fun watching these superstars collide.

Be sure to read our NBA predictions for each of tonight’s games, but for now, let’s dive into my best NBA player prop picks.

Eric Gordon over 15.5 points (-102)

With the NBA trade deadline approaching, no player will want to showcase his ability more than Eric Gordon. He has been balling out lately too, with 3 straight performances of 24 or more points. He was rested for their latest game against the Oklahoma City Thunder and should be ready to go against the Sacramento Kings tonight. Over those last 3 games, only about a third of his attempts have come from the perimeter. Gordon has focused more on getting into the paint, which has helped him get to the free throw line too. With Domantas Sabonis in the middle for the Kings, there is not going to be a established shot blocker to deter Gordon from going inside. And with Kevin Porter Jr. remaining out, look for the veteran guard’s usage to remain high. Back him to deliver a high scoring performance.

Ivica Zubac over 20.5 points + rebounds (-110)

Nic Claxton has been giving up big nights to opposing starting centers of late. Each of the last 5 that he has faced off against have been able to exceed their combined season average for points and rebounds. Considering Zubac is averaging 10.1 points and 10.3 rebounds, doing so would help the over hit. He has recorded a combined 21 or more in 3 of his last 5 games. The Clippers center will have a major strength advantage over Claxton.  Look for Zubac to bully him on the offensive glass and pick up scores on the inside. With the Nets man not capable of knocking down a jump shot outside of the paint, the Croatian should have great defensive rebounding position throughout the night too.

DeMar DeRozan over 5.5 assists (+125)

Over the last 10 games DeMar DeRozan is averaging 5.8 assists per game. Do not expect that to drop off against the team allowing opponents the most assists per game this season. The San Antonio Spurs have been shambolic defensively lately. They are allowing teams to score 127 points per game over their last 10. DeRozan is the main ball handler and facilitator for the Bulls. He will be the one setting the table for his teammates here.

The Spurs actually have a good shot blocker on the inside in Jakob Poeltl. This should encourage the Bulls star to kick out to open teammates on his drives to the rim. The Bulls are 4th in true shooting percentage over the last 5 games and should be capable of knocking down he shots DeRozan creates. He hit the over on this line 3 times during that stretch, coming just 1 assist short on both other occasions. Against a team as poor defensively as the Spurs, the over looks like the bet to make.
