Both the Dolphins and Chargers have plenty to be optimistic about heading into the 2023 NFL season, and this matchup looks primed to have tons of points with two red-hot offenses going head to head. Justin Herbert just signed a new seven-year contract and will be looking to prove his worth in front of his home crowd, and should be able to flourish with usual wide-receiving duo Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. In addition, Austin Ekeler should be a force out of the backfield both in the run game and the passing game.
On the other side, when Tua Tagovailoa was able to play with Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill last season, good things happened. On its day this Dolphins team can be one of the best at finding the end zone and they should be able to exploit a Chargers defense that has been shaky against top offenses in the past. Both teams will be confident about their chances of moving the ball and scoring points, and that should translate into a high-scoring matchup.
