Best season total bets to make on the 2018 NBA season

With the NBA season only a few days away there isn’t much time left to place some bets on each teams season total win bets. All 30 teams are on the board, but there is more value in some teams so let’s break down which teams offer you the best value.

Minnesota Timberwolves Under 41.5 Wins

The Minnnesota Timberwolves total opened up at most sportsbook around 44.5 but that number has dropped in the last few weeks to 41.5 and some books have taken it off the board. The Timberwolves won 47 games last year but even with the number dropping I still like the under as the value.

This Jimmy Butler saga is taking a real toll on the team and I think if he is traded the Wolves might actually win more games this year then they would if he stays on the team, even if it’s just till the trade deadline.

It’s clear that Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns don’t get along and those two playing together on the court this will be trouble.

Even if he is traded in the next few weeks I think what this offseason has done will have long-term effects on this team.

The bench is a weakness again, and coach Thibs will run these players into the ground again by Christmas. With a long grind of the NBA season wins are going to be hard to find in the second half of the year.

Los Angeles Lakers Under 48.5 Wins

Everyone is jumping on the Los Angeles Lakers hype train because they got LeBron James this offseason but in all reality of course James will win them games but they are probably a year out from really competing.

They also brought in the likes of Rajon Rondo and Lance Stephenson to put alongside James but they are only on one year deals so they can really figure out what they want to do this offseason.

Yes, James has led his teams to at least 50 wins in each of the last 11 seasons, but don’t forget that was in the Eastern Conference.

The Western Conference is going to be a grind night in and night out and with the new players still trying to mesh early in the season it’s going to be a slow start.

Milwaukee Bucks Over 46.5 Wins

The Milwaukee Bucks had higher expectations for last season but this year is the year that they do what everyone expected them to do last year.

They brought in former Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer and that move in itself is worth a few wins. He is one of the NBA’s brightest coach and he should help Giannis even more.

The Bucks did lose Jabari Parker but he really didn’t fit with the rest of the Bucks and that move should actually improve the team chemistry.

This is the year the Bucks look like a complete team and not just Giannis and a bunch of other guys and that will push their win total to right around 50.

Some others to consider

Detroit Pistons Over 38.5 wins – The Pistons got to 39 wins last year and they get a full year of Blake Griffin this year.

Atlanta Hawks over 22.5 wins – Trae Young has looked like the real deal so far and with the lowest projected win total, I like the over.
