I’ve cashed on my last two Same Game Parlay Bets, hoping to remain hot on MLK Day with the Boston Celtics taking on the Detroit Pistons in what should be the game of the night. Catch the tip-off at 8pm ET on NBC, Detroit has the opportunity to clinch the regular season series with a win here.

My Same Game Parlay consists of a Money Line pick, along with a pair of player prop bets. We will have NBA Picks for every single game on MLK Day, be sure to check those out. Let’s dive into my bet now!

Detroit Pistons -3.5 (-106)

Cade Cunningham 2+ Made Threes (-184)

Jaylen Brown 2+ Made Threes (-215)

Same Game Parlay odds: +329

Detroit Pistons -3.5 (-106)

The maturation process of these Pistons has been fun to watch, not a lot of people saw them jumping to the top of the Eastern Conference before the season started. But, stellar defense along with Cade Cunningham taking the next step in his development have resulted in their best start to a season in years. All of their success so far will be put to the test on Monday though, as they take on one of the teams that’s chasing them atop of the Eastern Conference the Boston Celtics.

Jaylen Brown and co. are on an impressive run of 11 wins in 14 games, but this season they’ve fallen to the Pistons twice already and in the last 7 meetings they’ve covered the spread just twice. Similarly to previous seasons, this team relies heavily on the three-ball to win games. It might be difficult to get going against Detroit, the Pistons rank 9th in three-point defense this season, they’ve held their last 3 opponents to just 32.1% shooting from downtown. For comparison the best three-point defense in the NBA allows opponents to shoot 33% from downtown. I’m expecting a close game, but in the end the Pistons will prevail.

Cade Cunningham 2+ Made Threes (-184)

For the 2nd season in row Cade Cunningham is putting up big numbers on offense, but this time around it has been followed by team success. The Pistons are off to an incredible 30-10 SU start to the year, something we haven’t seen from them in decades. Cade’s three-ball has been a particular highlight, going in at a consistent 33% on 2 makes per game which is in line with what he averaged last year. Since the turn of the year he’s made a pair in 4 of 5 games played, for the season he’s at a 62% success rate with this bet (22/35 games). The last 2 meetings have seen him score 32 and 42 points, he’s averaging 25.8 per game in the last 9 games head-to-head vs the Celtics. With his three-ball going in at a rate of 39% on 2.6 makes per game, it’s only logical for me to include him in my Same Game Parlay bet here.

Jaylen Brown 2+ Made Threes (-215)

I’m sure most people are aware what Jaylen Brown has done so far this season, but in case you’ve missed it he has been enjoying his best year as a pro, at least from an individual standpoint. He’s particularly excelled in the 3 meetings vs the Pistons, averaging 36 points per game on 45% from the field and 38% from three. Being down 2-1 in the regular season series means that the Celtics are playing with their backs against the wall here, hoping to avoid losing the series on the road in Detroit. Brown has cashed on a pair of threes in 3 consecutive games, for the month of January he’s making 2.8 per game on 36% efficiency. A strong performance from him would go a long way for the men in green, he’s cashed on a pair of threes in 24 of 38 games played this season (63). He’s drained a three in all 19 road games played this season, cashing on this bet 12 times. Despite the Pistons being an elite defensive team, I have full faith in Brown doing well offensively.
