Sundays are mostly about the NFL, but college basketball never stops. Among the teams wrapping up the week with games today are Tennessee, Florida State, Florida, and Oklahoma State. All of them are involved in our mega parlay.

Tennessee -16.5 (-110)

Florida State -7.5 alternate spread (+215)

Prairie View A&M +18.5 (-110)

Parlay odds: +1049

For this parlay we are going with two favorites against the spread (including one on an alternate line) and one underdog plus the points. Let’s break down each of the legs one by one.

Tennessee -16.5 over East Tennessee State (-110)

The Volunteers took care of Tennessee Martin 90-62 in their season opener behind a 20-point effort from high-touted freshman Kennedy Chandler. East Tennessee State blew an early 10-point first-half lead, falling to Appalachian State 69-67 in its first round. As a -16.5 home favorite, Tennessee should be able to cover. The Vols’ defense is one of the stingiest units in college basketball, rating out 7th in adjusted defensive efficiency per KenPom (88.3 points allowed per 100 possessions). East Tennessee State’s offense figures to have a tough time generating enough points on the offensive end of the floor. ETSU lives and dies by the 3-point shot, as more than half of its field-goal attempts are treys (18th in D-1). The Buccaneers shot 33 threes in their season opener, connecting on just 10 of them.

Florida State -7.5 alternate spread over Florida (+215)

The Gators have welcomed in 4 transfers: CJ Felder, Myreon Jones, Brandon McKissic, and Phlandrous Fleming Jr. They have a combined 3,882 career points at their previous schools, which is the second-most of any school in this year’s historic transfer class. That will serve Florida well in general, but it may take a while for the acclimation process to work. The Seminoles enter tonight’s game following a 105-70 win over Penn on Tuesday night. Head coach Leonard Hamilton’s team tenacious on the defensive side of the court, forcing 26 Quaker turnovers that resulted in 37 points for FSU. Florida State out-rebounded UPenn by 20, recording almost as many offensive rebounds (24) as UPenn did total rebounds (29). Transfer guard Caleb Mills from Houston led the Cougars in scoring off the bench as a freshman, ultimately earning him the AAC Preseason Player of the Year in 2020-21 before suffering an ankle injury after just 4 games played. He should make an instant impact.

Prairie View A&M +18.5 over Oklahoma State (-110)

The Panthers have played quite possibly the hardest schedule of any team in college basketball up until this point. They have played games against St. Mary’s, San Francisco, and 6th-ranked Michigan. Prairie View boasted the nation’s 34th-ranked scoring defense last season, allowing only 64.2 points per game. This year’s squad has some scoring ability, as well. Jawaun Daniels is averaging 16 points per game against teams that are very capable of playing in the NCAA Tournament. The Cowboys, on the other hand, are learning how hard life is going to be without Cade Cunningham. After cruising to a season-opening win over UT Arlington, the Cowboys lost at home to Oakland on Friday.
