Welcome to our second college basketball mega parlay of the calendar year. Doesn’t 1/2/22 seem like a good date to cash a mega parlay? It does to me! Although there have been a whole host of postponements (including Arizona vs USC),  there is still more than enough to work with as we try to formulate a winning mega parlay. We are absolutely on fire with these mega parlays when it comes to college football bowl games, so now let’s transfer that success to the hardwood!

North Carolina -7 (-110)

Michigan State -2 (-110)

Nebraska ML (+375)

Parlay odds: +1631

For this parlay we are going with two favorites against the spread – one on an alternate spread – and one underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

North Carolina -7 over Boston College (-110)

The Tar Heels are heading into Chestnut Hill in search of their second ACC win on the season. This will be North Carolina’s first game in 12 days since its 70-50 home win over Appalachian State. The Tar Heels have feasted off of their inferior opponents this season, with seven of their nine wins coming against mid-major programs. They boast an electric offense, averaging 78.6 points per game with five different players averaging double-figures. UNC team can be a serious threat in the ACC if it can just be consistent. Armanda Bacot and Caleb Love both lead the Tar Heels with 15 points per game. The Eagles are also seeking their second ACC win on the season after having their last two scheduled games postponed. Boston College has not played in 20 days since its 61-57 home loss to Albany, a game in which the Eagles were favored by 15.5 points. Their problem has been scoring; they average nly 67.3 points per game, which is the 3rd fewest in the ACC. I doubt they can even come close to keeping up with the Heels.

Michigan State -2 over Northwestern (-110)

The 10th-ranked Spartans will travel to Evanston on Sunday to play a conference game against Northwestern. Michigan State comes into this game with a 11-2 record and on a 6-game winning streak. The Spartans last loss came to Baylor on November 26 in the Battle 4 Atlantis. Michigan State won all 6 of its games in December and most recently beat High Point 81-68 last Wednesday. Senior forward Gabe Brown led the way with 24 points and 7 rebounds in that matchup. He leads the team in points averaging 14.2 points per game. Northwestern is 8-2 on the season after beating Illinois Springfield 90-50 on December 20. Senior forward Pete Nance led Northwestern with 15 points and 8 rebounds on just 18 minutes played. The Wildcats have not played a Division 1 team since December 12 when they beat NJIT 70-52. Their games against Prairie View A&M and DePaul both got cancelled due to Covid-19. Hosting the No. 10 team in the nation will be a much bigger challenge than their most recent games against NJIT and Illinois Springfield. Northwestern has started the season with a good record, but it just isn’t at the level of Michigan State.

Nebraska ML over Ohio State (+375)

Ohio State gets back to game action on Sunday after a 22-day COVID pause. Nebraska has struggled with consistency this season, ranking outside of the Top 175 in KenPom’s adjusted offensive efficiency, but at home the Cornhuskers average 75.2 ppg on 43.4%. Statistically, Ohio State is the much better team. However, the 22-day pause adds a wrinkle to the handicap of this game. In an interview with 247Sports, Buckeye head coach Chris Holtmann said a lot of his guys had to quarantine for 10 days with no physical activity and that last Thursday was the first day that the full Ohio State team was together for a film session in more than two weeks. Why not take a stab at Nebraska?!?!
