Week 3 games to watch

Alabama vs Florida is obviously among the games to watch this week. The Crimson Tide’s biggest rival also has a fun matchup on its hands, as the Auburn Tigers are paying a visit to the Penn State Nittany Lions. On the other side of the country, both the Arizona State Sun Devils and BYU Cougars are 2-0 heading into their head-to-head meeting.

Normally I wouldn’t be too enthused about giving more than two touchdowns to a team ranked 11th in the country and playing at home. However, Alabama beat then-No. 14 Miami (FL) 44-13 and that was in Bryce Young’s debut. Now he has two games under his belt and the Crimson Tide are already looking like a well-oiled machine. Bama is a +180 favorite to win the National Championship and Young is a +350 favorite to win the Heisman Trophy.

I’ll take them as -15 favorites over the Gators.

I also see a potential opportunity in the ACC. The Virginia Cavaliers are getting 9 points as they prepare to go on the road to face the North Carolina Tar Heels. Virginia is 2-0 and coming off a 42-14 shellacking of Illinois. North Carolina eased past Georgia State last weekend, but you can’t forget that the Heels lost their opener to Virginia Tech 17-10. It’s also worth noting that UVA won the 2020 contest 44-41.

Give me the Wahoos and the points.
