Well, that was an absolutely wild weekend in college football. Top-ranked Alabama fell to Texas A&M, the latest installment of the Red River rivalry was an instant classic won by Oklahoma over Texas, and No. 3 Iowa scraped past No. 4 Penn State.

Now that the dust has settled at least to some extent, it’s time to start focusing on the upcoming week of action on the college football gridiron. It’s not necessarily the most intriguing lineup, but then again you never know from where chaos is going to come. After all, nobody expected Texas A&M to even be competitive with Alabama.

Week 7 games to watch

There are only two all-top 25 showdowns this week, including one that pits top-ranked Georgia against No. 11 Kentucky. The oddsmakers have been slow to catch on in terms of just how good Georgia is (specifically on defense) and I have been hammering Georgia (and the under) with much success. However, the market has finally adjusted and 23.5 points is a lot to give to a Kentucky team that is also 6-0. The Wildcats are coming off consecutive victories and easy covers against Florida and LSU. I’ll take them plus more than 3 touchdowns. But even though I’m straying from the Bulldogs, I’m once again taking the under (total currently 44.5).

I also see a potential opportunity in the Big Ten. Michigan State—another 6-0 squad—is giving just 4.5 points to Indiana. It actually opened at Spartans -3, but unsurprisingly the line is already on the move. You might want to jump on it now before it leans even more toward MSU. Sparty’s only scare has come against Nebraska (23-20) and it has won all of its other games by at least 17 points. That includes a 38-17 beatdown of then-No. 24 Miami (FL) when the ‘Canes were favored. Don’t be surprised if Michigan State makes light work of the 3-loss Hoosiers.
