Inter Miami vs FC Porto best bets: FC Porto 3-Way Money Line and Over 1.5 (-120)

Inter Miami and Lionel Messi disappointed in their opening match of the FIFA Club World Cup, drawing 0-0 against Al Ahly. However, they were lucky to escape with a point, as the Egyptian side had a goal ruled back from VAR and a penalty saved in the 43rd minute. Messi and company will have to do much more if they want to have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stage, but I can’t see that happening against FC Porto. The Portuguese side is also still searching for their first win after also tying their first game 0-0 against Palmeiras. However, Porto and Palmeiras were the favorites to make it out of this group, and I expect these odds to come to fruition on Thursday.

Porto extended their unbeaten streak to 11 games in all competitions after their 0-0 draw, and they should take all 3 points against Inter Miami. The MLS side boasts big names like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets, but it was their GK Oscar Ustari as the Man of the Match against Al Ahly. Their defense just isn’t strong enough as they start to go up against elite competition, and Porto ranks 58th in the world per Opta’s Power Rankings, while Al Ahly is 101st and Inter Miami is 152nd. The Portuguese side needs 3 points to take command of this group, and 22 of their last 25 victories have featured 2+ goals. They should be able to net 2 goals on their own, but even if Miami contributes to the scoring, expect the Portuguese side to take all 3 points on Thursday.

My Pick: Same Game Parlay – FC Porto 3-Way Money Line and Over 1.5 (-120)

Seattle Sounders vs Atlético Madrid predictions: Atlético Madrid 3-Way Money Line and Over 2.5 (-121)

*Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing*

I also love the third game of Thursday’s slate, as two teams looking to bounce back, the Seattle Sounders and Atlético Madrid, will go head-to-head at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington. The Sounders will have home-field advantage, but the speed and size of Atlético Madrid will likely be too much. The MLS side looked decent against Botafogo in their opening match, but two headers from the Brazilian side in the first half were enough for a 2-1 victory. Overall, Botafogo was able to dominate every set piece, and I expect Atlético Madrid to get the ball wide before whipping balls into the box to Alexander Sørloth, who came on in the last 20 minutes against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Spanish side was embarrassed in their opening game 4-0 against PSG, but the game could’ve been a lot closer. They pulled the game back to make it 2-1 in the 59th minute, but VAR ruled there was a foul in the build-up to the goal and reversed the tally. This took the wind out of Atlético’s sails, and the French side scored two more goals. However, they should be able to turn things around against a Seattle side ranking 212th in the world per Opta’s Power Rankings compared to the Spanish side’s 16th world ranking. Madrid often scores in bunches when they win, as 8 of their last 10 victories have featured 3+ goals. Expect Diego Simeone’s side to pick up three points but don’t be surprised if this game features fireworks from both sides.

My Pick: Same Game Parlay – Atlético Madrid 3-Way Money Line and Over 2.5 (-121)
