The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has been filled with excitement, and I expect that to continue now that we’re in the final round of group-stage matches. Group A and Group B are in the books but now we have our soccer predictions for the final matches in Group C and Group D, with 2 games kicking off at 3:00 pm ET and 2 at 9:00 pm ET. I’m 10-4 with my picks this tournament, so you’ll want to see who I’m backing today.

Auckland City vs Boca Juniors best bets: Boca Juniors Goalkeeper to Record 1+ Saves (+120)

Group C kicks off Tuesday’s action, and while most eyes will be on Benfica vs Bayern Munich, I’m focused on the other match between Boca Juniors and Auckland City. I’ve already discussed how Auckland City is essentially an amateur squad, and I nailed my best bet when they played Bayern Munich in their opening match. The Germans dismantled them, winning 10-0, and that defeat was followed by another shutout, losing 6-0 to Benfica. It’s safe to say that you need to beat up the New Zealand squad if you want to qualify for the Round of 16. Now, Boca Juniors find themselves in that exact scenario.
The Argentinian squad drew Benfica 2-2 in the opening game, which was a disappointing result given they were up 2-0. Then, they scored an absolutely beautiful goal against Bayern to tie the game in the 66th minute, but the Germans went on to win the game 2-1 in the 84th minute. They’ve played well through 2 games, and they can still qualify for the knockout stage if they beat Auckland City by a wide margin and receive some help from Bayern (Benfica must lose for Boca Juniors to qualify). This should lead to a desperate approach, and I expect them to jump on Auckland from the get-go.
Although Boca Juniors should win this game by a wide margin, they could leave themselves open in the back given they have to push for as many goals as possible. Although Auckland City has yet to score in this tournament, they have been able to get shots on target. They recorded 2 shots on goal against Benfica and 1 against Bayern. Boca Juniors is in the same category as these 2 squads, and I anticipate that Auckland will record at least 1 shot on target, which should be safely saved by Boca Juniors GK Agustín Marchesín, who has 1+ save in both of Boca’s games.

Esperance Sportive de Tunis vs Chelsea prediction: Chelsea ML and Under 3.5 (-120)

The situation in Group D is extremely tight, as Flamengo has guaranteed themselves a spot in the Round of 16. However, Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Chelsea can still qualify and even win the group if Flamengo fails to pick up a point against LAFC. The English side are the favorites in this one, and they will have extra motivation to win after they were humiliated by Flamengo 3-1 in their last game. For a team that was expected to win this group, failure to qualify for the knockout stage would be a big disappointment. However, things won’t be easy against this Tunisian side.
Esperance Sportive de Tunis fell in their opening game to Flamengo 2-0, but they did well to take down LAFC 1-0 in their next match. They will likely sit in against Chelsea, as they only had 31.4% possession against Flamengo and 39.8% against LAFC. However, they will eventually need to come out of their shell, as a draw would guarantee Chelsea a spot in the Round of 16 due to goal differential. Therefore, I expect a low-scoring first half, and if the game is tied at halftime, they’ll need to start pushing forward in the second half.
Chelsea should win this game, and I expect them to bounce back after their defeat against Flamengo. However, I don’t foresee it being an easy victory, which is why I’m picking them to win in a low-scoring affair. They beat LAFC 2-0, and 7 of their last 10 victories in the 2024/25 English Premier League season finished with fewer than 4 goals. Expect more of the same tomorrow, as Chelsea sneaks into the Round of 16 with a low-scoring win against Esperance Sportive de Tunis.
