College Basketball pick today: Dayton Flyers -1 over St. Louis Billikens (-115), 7:00 pm ET

In the last meeting between these 2 teams on February 10 in Dayton, the Flyers rolled 70-56. They took care of business with ease even though star forward DaRon Holmes II scored only 15 points on 4-for-11 shooting. Holmes has since scored at least 20 points in 3 of 4 games, including 34 last weekend against George Mason. Dayton’s down-low duo of Holmes (18.2 ppg, 7.9 rpg) and Toumani Camara (13.9 ppg, 8.7 rpg) is tough to contain. For that reason, backing the Flyers will be the play tonight.

NHL pick today: Edmonton Oilers ML over Winnipeg Jets (-155), 9:07 pm ET

The Jets come into this game struggling, as they have dropped 6 of their last 7 games, which included a bad loss against the Blue Jackets as well as blowing multiple leads to lose in OT against the Kings on Tuesday. On top of their recent poor performance, they will have to contend with the league’s number one offense over the past month.

The Oilers are the best team at creating scoring chances since the start of February, ranking 5th in expected goals. What’s even more dangerous about the Oilers offense is how well they convert on those chances, as they also rank 1st in goals per game with a mark of 4.17 over the same time frame. Trying to stop that high-octane Oilers offense will Jets defense that ranks 14th in expected goals against and 15th in goals allowed per game since February 1. Neither of those rankings give confidence they can slow down the Oilers. For that reason, backing the Oilers looks to be the best play.

NHL pick today: Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 over Arizona Coyotes (-130), 9:37 pm ET

From a statistical perspective, these two teams are on completely opposite sides of the spectrum. In fact, Carolina ranks 1st in xGF%, xGF per 60 minutes, as well as xGA per 60 minutes, showcasing their dominance on both ends of the ice.

On the other hand, Arizona ranks 30th in xGF%, 31st xGF per 60 minutes, and 27th in xGA per 60 minutes, showing their struggles this season. This is a nightmare matchup for the Coyotes, especially with the added motivation the Hurricanes have coming off 2 straight losses. For that reason, back the Hurricanes on the puck line to win by at least 2 goals.

NHL pick today: Montreal Canadiens vs Anaheim Ducks – Over 6 goals (-120), 10:00 pm ET

It’s safe to say that tonight’s nightcap isn’t exactly a Stanley Cup Finals preview. The Canadiens have the 2nd-fewest points in the Eastern Conference, while the Ducks have been back-and-forth with the Chicago Blackhawks for the fewest in the Western Conference. Montreal will also be entering this matchup on the 2nd night of a back-to-back after being down the road in Los Angeles to face the Kings. However, Anaheim has been the worst defensive team in the league by far this season. Because both teams have been terrible this season, backing the over worth a play.
