Oilers -1.5 (+160)

Capitals -1.5 (+155)

Rangers vs. Lightning over 6 goals (+105)

Parlay Odds +1359

Let’s break down each of the legs one by one.

Edmonton Oilers -1.5 over the New Jersey Devils (+160)

The Oilers dropped their first game back after the leagues break, but they may have an easier time pulling off a win against their opponent tonight. The Oilers will be playing hungry tonight, they can’t afford to keep slipping in the very tight Pacific Division race. Tonight they’re playing the Devils, who aren’t exactly a playoff-caliber team this season.

Edmonton’s offense might overpower the Devils tonight, they’re averaging the seventh-most goals per game with 3.37 while the Devils are just averaging 2.74 goals per game, the eighth-worst in the league. This game could likely be decided through special teams, which the Oilers have the upper hand. McDavid and Draisaitl have consistently been dominant on the man advantage this season and have brought the Oilers to having the number one ranked powerplay in the league operating at 31.5%. Not only does New Jersey have the second-worst powerplay in the league at 13.8%, they also give up more than four penalties a game. If Edmonton can get a few goals on the powerplay tonight, they should cover the spread and get back in the win column. Take them on the puck line tonight.

Washington Capitals -1.5 over the Detroit Red Wings (+155)

The Capitals have been one of the best teams all season long. From their top line to their goaltending, everything has seemed to be clicking for them; they are currently one point back from first place in the entire league. In their most recent matchup against the Detroit Red Wings, the Capitals won 2-0 and they’ll be looking to repeat that effort again tonight. Ilya Samsonov is expected to start for the Caps and he’s recorded a 12-2-2 record this season while posting a 2.66 GAA. He’s looked great all season, and on some of the nights he falters, Alex Ovechkin and the rest of the offense have dominated offensively. Ovi is currently two points behind the league lead in scoring, what he’s been able to accomplish this year is incredible and he’s shown no signs of slowing down.

Thomas Greiss is expected to start for Detroit tonight, he’s posting a 3.52 GAA and a .893 SVP. He hasn’t had the best season, and Washington’s offense might be too much to contain. In six of his 12 starts, he’s allowed four or more goals. Don’t overthink this one, take the Caps on the puck line.

New York Rangers vs Tampa Bay Lightning over 6 goals (+105)

These are two teams with incredible offensive talent and sometimes have defensive lapses. The Lightning will be playing the tail end of a back-to-back and are coming off of a 9-3 loss. They suffered a brutal loss so they’ll be hungry tonight, but they won’t have their Vezina-winning goaltender behind them to protect them from the Rangers’ offense.

With Andrei Vasilevskiy out with Covid-19, fourth-string goaltender Hugo Alnefelt is expected to start tonight for the Bolts. With Alnefelt starting, that’s great news for over bettors. He’s appeared in just two games this season, in his first game he allowed five goals and garnered a win, in his second start he allowed three goals on 10 shots and got pulled in the first period. He’s posting a .700 SVP. Against a lethal offense that the Rangers possess, this could be another quick night in the net for him. Since the Lightning are coming off of such an embarrassing loss I don’t see them losing without putting up a fight tonight. It’ll be a tough victory for the Rangers, but this game is bound to go over with a fourth-string goaltender in the net. Take over six goals tonight.
