Golf gets loud this week with the most raucous event the PGA Tour has to offer, the Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, where Scottie Scheffler is the star attraction as he bids to follow up his dominant American Express win. With 700,000 spectators in attendance over the 4 days of the Phoenix Open, the PGA Tour stars are well aware of the raucous atmosphere that awaits at TPC Scottsdale, but that doesn’t mean all of them will be able to handle it. Let’s break down our golf predictions for the Phoenix Open this week.

Phoenix Open golf picks and predictions

Phoenix Open best bet: Hideki Matsuyama (+2500)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

While Scottie Scheffler is on a run of 17 consecutive top-eight finishes and is a red-hot favourite, this is a strong field for a non-signature event, and he can be taken on with 4 high-class rivals, all of whom boast rock-solid course credentials. The first is Hideki Matsuyama who, like Scheffler, is a two-time Phoenix winner who has shown can go head-to-head with the world number one and emerge victorious, just like he did at the Hero World Challenge at the end of 2025. The Japanese superstar appears to be in good form and that’s been reflected in a consistent run of results over the last few months, including 13th place in the Sony Open and 11th at the Farmers Insurance Open to start the year.

Phoenix Open prediction: Cameron Young (+2500)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Cameron Young is another with the game to prevent a Scheffler hat-trick in Phoenix. Young has been strong in Scottsdale over the last 2 seasons, finishing inside the top 12 in 2024 and 2025. There was a lot to like about Young’s form in his return from a 6-week break at Torrey Pines, where he fired a final-round 68 to share 22nd place. Following his long overdue breakthrough at the Wyndham Championship last August, there should be more to come from Young this year.

Phoenix Open longshot pick: Sahith Theegala (+4400)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Theegala has multiple top-5 finishes at the Phoenix Open to his name from just 4 appearances, and he has made an encouraging start to the 2026 season, posting finishes of 31st, 8th and 7th-place to this point. Theegala did just about everything well at the Farmers Insurance Open last week and given the fact that he is looking particularly sharp on approach, he’s worth a small wager at this price.

Phoenix Open prediction: Jordan Spieth (+5500)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Jordan Spieth is unlikely to ever be the force that he was in his younger years, but the multi-time major winner has six top-10 finishes to his name at Scottsdale, 4 of which have come in the last 5 years. He will be encouraged by a top-30 finish at the Sony Open in his seasonal debut a couple of weeks ago, and is worth a shot at this price.
