There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Wednesday, including at Delaware Park race track. Here are four runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

3:15 pm Delaware Park (Race 5) – Vanhoofer +200

Race 5 at Delaware Park is a $38,000 Maiden Special Weight over five furlongs on the turf and this one can go to the once-raced Vanhoofer. This son of Vancouver went off favourite for his debut over six furlongs on the dirt at Pimlico last month and was never in the race having started slowly and showing signs of greenness. However, he should come on a massive amount for that debut run and a switch to the turf for his second start will suit so he can put that debut run firmly behind him and win here.

3:45 pm Delaware Park (Race 6) – Vics Cool Cat +1200

Vics Cool Cat is very consistent and can again put up a bold showing at nice odds in Race 6 at Delaware Park, a $42,000 Allowance Optional Claiming contest over an extended five furlongs on the dirt surface. This filly has won four times to date, all of which have been at Laurel Park, and has been placed on three occasions which include two second place finishes in Claiming and Allowance company. The second in the Claimer was here at Delaware Park so she has some course experience and I expect her to be in the shake up again.

4:15 pm Delaware Park (Race 7) – Food And Wine +800

The penultimate race at Delaware Park is a $40,000 Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward and this one can go to Food And Wine. Linda L. Manchio’s gelded son of War Front has finished in the first three in six of his fourteen starts to date with two wins, two seconds and two third placed finishes. Form figures in two Allowance starts at Tampa Bay read 32 so he is clearly knocking on the door in this grade and a first visit to Delaware Park may just help him in finding the winners’ circle this time around.

4:45 pm Delaware Park (Race 8) – Just Pick One +400

A $38,000 Maiden Special Weight concludes the card at Delaware Park and this race features a small field with preference for the aptly named Just Pick One. Three horses in this field are un-raced so it’s hard to know what they are going to bring to the table and in this case I’m going to side with a horse with experience and that’s the case with this colt as he has finished fourth and second in two Waiver Maiden Claimers to date. It can be said they weren’t the strongest races in the world but he has that valuable experience and, from a nice draw in stall two, he can go well.
