There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Thursday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. Here are four runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

2:56 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 5) – Jazla +250

Mackenzie’s Girl possesses a wealth of experience, but another second-place last time brought her overall record to 0-9. Jazla, who was impeded at the start on debut, built on that promising introduction when narrowly behind that rival last time and is fancied to reverse the placings today.  Mackenzie’s Girl had the run of the race on that occasion and Jazla made up plenty of ground from an unpromising position. She’s the unexposed quantity in this contest and on just her third start, the best should be yet to come from Ralph Nicks’ charge.

3:59 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Miss Mikaela +250

Costing $15,000 as a yearling, this daughter of Tonalist got off the mark at the sixth time of asking, winning over six furlongs at Gulfstream back in April. She did so in empathic fashion, drawing clear under mild handling. This step up in trip is an unknown, but she has plenty of early speed and that could make the difference in this contest. Drawn best in gate one, it’ll be a case of “catch me if you can” by Leonel Reyes, and these rivals will struggle to do in the closing stages.

4:31 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – My Beauty Princess +400

This daughter of Verrazano was a $12,500 purchase at the horses of racing age sales, running with minor promise in two starts as a juvenile in 2020. Making her return from a break over track and distance in May, she was a different proposition, finishing a good second behind a runaway winner. With race fitness on her side, she should take another big step in the right direction and kept at the same claiming level, her graduation day doesn’t look too far away.
