There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks, up 207.25 units dating back to Aug. 5. We went 3-for-3 on Wednesday — including a 3-star best bet — while profiting 12.6 units. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Here are four runners whom we expected to have a leg up on the rest of the competition. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.

2:58 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Po Boy 5/1

Race 7 at Gulfstream Park is a $34,000 Claiming contest over six furlongs in which a field of seven are set to line up and I like the horse in stall five, Po Boy, who has improved with each of his three starts so far and can follow up his win last time out at this course. That victory came in a Maiden Claimer over an extended five furlongs which was an impressive four and a half length win so if he can get to the front under Franklin Calles then he could take some catching.

3:28 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Ready Orb Not 7/1

Ready Orb Not is drawn out in stall nine in this $21,000 Claimer but that should not bother this experienced mare who has been running well here in recent starts and has enough about her in which to make her presence felt in his open looking race. Her three wins have either been at six furlongs or a mile so things will need to fall right for her if she is to win over this seven furlong trip but she’s a consistent sort who is tactically versatile so I am hoping for a bold showing here.

3:59 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – California Frolic 7/1

A competitive $61,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event over an extended mile on the all-weather track is the penultimate race at Gulfstream Park in which a case can be made for a few at the top of the market with California Frolic taken to come out on top. This son of California Chrome was a convincing two and a quarter length victor of a Maiden Claimer over this course and distance last time out and with a similar showing he’ll be right there at the finish.

4:32 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Abaan 2/1

The $100,000 H. Allen Jerkens Stakes over a two mile trip on the turf is the final race at Gulfstream Park and this is a bit of a specialist trip so there’ll be a fair few in here who won’t get home and with that in mind it’s best to side with Abaan who’s sire Will Take Charge was a big long striding late closer so there’s every hope this gelding will stay the distance. His latest victory was a comfortable one over a mile and three eighths and he shapes as though he’ll get a longer trip and his genuine attitude will certainly help that.
