There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Monday, including at Parx race track. Here are three runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

2:43 pm Parx (Race 5) – Gia’s Fuego +250

Gia’s Fuego and Shahaada both made their debuts at Parx earlier this month, with the former posting the far more promising effort. Robert Reid’s daughter of Fed Biz was always up with the pace and although she didn’t get by the eventual winner, it was still a good effort to build upon. She should be all the better for the experience and she’s been working well at Parx since. With Frankie Pennington retaining the ride, there can be plenty of hope she’ll make it second time lucky.

4:04 pm Parx (Race 8) – Wicked Finn +400

A $25,000 purchase, this son of Wicked Strong got off the mark at the fourth attempt with victory at Presque Isle Downs in October. Although he was safely held on return at Laurel Park in February, he was a different proposition last time, finishing a great second in a waiver claiming event. That was much more like it and he should be at peak fitness now that he makes his third start after the layoff. On paper, this is no tougher than last time and he’s an obvious contender for Dale Bennett.

4:31 pm Parx (Race 9) – Sevier +200

Jamie Ness’s gelding has been in superb form in 2021, winning three of his four starts this year. He fell short in his hat-trick bid at Oaklawn Park two starts ago, but he was back on track when making a winning first start at Parx earlier this month. He gained that success at $30,000 level and with his early pace likely to see him clear in the early stages, he can make it back to back Philadelphia victories in this $28,000 event.
