There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Monday, including at Parx race track. We have been crushing our horse picks for several months now (up 200.45 units dating back to Aug. 5). We also hit a 6/1 winner on Friday, picked three winners in five races on Saturday, and picked two winners out of two races on Sunday. Let’s maintain the momentum!

Here are three runners whom we expected to have a leg up on the rest of the competition. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.

12:10 pm Parx (Race 1) – Smarten Up 9/5

Has demonstrated ability in both starts to date registering two placed efforts. The first of those came when finishing runner-up in a maiden special weight over seven furlongs here in September. Had to give best to a more experienced rival on that occasion and delivered a solid third place finish having raced prominently when upped to a mile in a similar event here subsequently. Looks capable of getting off the mark at the third time of asking.

1:04 pm Parx (Race 3) – Imperial Road 9/5

Took a step forward on his second career start when finishing a good third having raced close to the pace in a six furlong maiden special weight at this venue last month. Had previously finished fourth at this track when making his debut and he looks up to breaking his maiden dropping back half a furlong in distance having drawn post position two with the meetings top jockey Ruben Silvera a positive with regards to this chances.

3:46 pm Parx (Race 9) – Military Hop 7/2

Showed good form in the early part of last year including when following up two second place finishes in starter optional claiming races at Laurel Park with a victory in a similar contest over five-and-one-half-furlongs at the same venue at the end of February. Absent since the entire has joined the Jamie Ness barn and looks likely to prove hard to beat switched to a claiming contest on his return from a lengthy absence with Ruben Silver booked to ride.
