There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Santa Anita race track. Here are four runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

4:35 pm Santa Anita (Race 2) – Censorship +180

The unraced Tonalist filly Censorship was a shrewd purchase by her former connections with the fillies sales price increasing from $10,000 as a yearling last September to $300,000 at the two-year-old in training sale at Ocala. Having joined top trainer Bob Baffert following that sale the selection has clocked some good works in the morning including when delivering a 59.80 over five furlongs from the gate at this track earlier this week and she is taken to win first up.

5:40 pm Santa Anita (Race 4) – Brutto +120

Demonstrated plenty of ability in two starts to date finishing runner-up on each occasion. Had no chance with impressive all the way winner Fightline over six furlongs here when debuting in April but was a clear second best that day and he again ran well when beaten a neck in a six runner event over the same course and distance subsequently. Sets the standard on form and can prove hard to beat for trainer Bob Baffert.

6:44 pm Santa Anita (Race 6) – Bold Endeavor -125

Placed second on all three starts since winning an allowance optional claiming race at this track back in early February. The most recent of those second place finishes came when beaten two-and-three-quarter-lengths in an allowance optional claimer over a mile-and-a-quarter last month. The drop in trip here should prove no issue having placed in a mile contest at this venue on his penultimate start and he can register a sixth career success and a fourth at this venue.

8:23 pm Santa Anita (Race 9) – None Above The Law +180

Winner of three of his last four starts and looks to hold strong claims of registering a fifth career success. The most recent of those victories came when racing from off the pace prior to registering a one-and-a-half-length victory in the Alcatraz Stakes over a mile on the turf track at Golden Gate Fields last month. Had previously taken a similar minor stakes race on the all-weather at the same track and is taken to score on his return to turf.

9:29 pm Santa Anita (Race 11) – Ward ‘n Jerry +250

The final race on the card can go the way of Mike Puype’s charge who was completing a starter allowance double when winning by half-a-length over a mile-and-a-half on the turf course at this track in March. Given a break since then the six-year-old demonstrated his wellbeing with a 1:02.00 five furlong work on dirt here earlier this month and last year’s third is taken to record a first Graded stakes success since March last year.
