There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America in the early stages of this week, including at tracks like Thistledown and Penn National. Here are three runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

Thistledown Race 4 (2:20 pm)

4 One Glamorous Gal (+200)

The Gary Johnson-trained daughter of Macho Uno arrives in great form after easily winning a maiden special weight over 5.5f and then following up from the widest gate in an allowance last time, going clear. Her 68 Beyer figure last time is a standout in this field and this return to 6f should not be a problem. The Johnson barn is 22% at this meet and One Glamorous Gal has plenty going for her.

Penn National Race 6 (8:10 pm)

4 Literally (+300)

Literally came of age last time out with a gate-to-wire success here over 6f. That was his second win in his last five, both for Rodrigo Madrigal, for whom he also scored over course and distance. He looks to have raised the bar now and Erin McLellan, who is 21% at this meet, can reap the rewards of that now he is under her care.

Thistledown Race 7 (3:50 pm)

8 Ahimelech (+200)

The Timothy Hamm-trained gelding arrives on the back of a hat-trick, his latest win being here over C&D. He is now four from 10 and he returns to a lower level claimer than his previous such win. He has blistering early speed which should enable him to overcome a gate eight draw and there is every reason to believe that he can make the switch back a successful one and continue that hot streak.
