Horse Racing picks for Belmont Park race track on Friday, June 17: Contemporary Art looks good

Horse racing at Belmont Park

There is plenty of great horse racing across America today, including at Belmont Park race track. We have been on fire with our picks for a long time now and after 2 winners from 3 picks yesterday, we are now up +304.63 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Belmont Park.

1:00 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 1) – Contemporary Art 7/5 (2-star play)

Contemporary Art delivered a highly promising debut effort when finishing a neck 2nd in a mile and 1/16th maiden special weight on turf at Belmont at the start of last month. She had today’s rival Sahlabiya one place behind her that day, having raced in 3rd in the early stages of the contest.

She represents a leading trainer in Chad Brown and the daughter of Dubawi is taken to get off the mark at the second time of asking upped slightly in trip.

1:32 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 2) – Athenry 5/2 (2-star play)

The drop to a maiden claimer saw the son of Normandy Invasion get off the mark when winning by 7 lengths in a 7-furlong contest at Belmont in October last year and he followed that up with a close up 5th over 6 furlongs in a starter contest at Aqueduct the following month.

A return to 7 furlongs today is no issue coming after a 1 3/4-length 3rd over 6 furlongs at Aqueduct in his seasonal reappearance in April.

2:32 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 4) – Eylara 2/1 (2-star play)

A winner on heavy turf as a 2-year-old in Ireland, Eylara made a highly promising debut for Christophe Clement when finishing 3 lengths 3rd in a mile and 1/16th allowance at Aqueduct in April.

The horses in front of her that day have both won since and, having advertised her wellbeing with a series of dirt works at Belmont in recent weeks, the daughter of Gleneagles is taken to double her career tally having scratched from an engagement there last week.

3:34 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 6) – Khali Magic 9/5 (2-star play)

Khali Magic has been performing well in this company, finishing on the board in each of her last 4 starts, including when beaten half a length over 6 1/2 furlongs at this venue last month.

She previously finished 3rd when beaten a length over a mile at Aqueduct. She recorded a good 37.90 3-furlong work at Belmont earlier this month and is likely to race close to or just off the speed. She can help jockey Luis Saez improve on his 18% strike-rate at this meeting.

4:40 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 8) – Chateau 6/5 (2-star play)

Chateau recorded a 3 1/2 length victory in a Listed stakes contest over 6 furlongs at Aqueduct in December and has since delivered 2 placed efforts in Grade 3 company, including when a length 2nd to subsequent winner Drafted in the Runhappy Stakes at Belmont last month.

Regular jockey Kendrick Carmouche takes the ride and having proved himself at a higher level, the son of Flat Out is taken to successfully make all the running to register a 9th career success.
