There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Wednesday, including at Finger Lakes race track. Here are four runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

3:35 pm Finger Lakes (Race 6) – Little Maddy Brown +350

Race 6 at Finger Lakes is a $25,900 Allowance race over an extended five furlongs on the dirt surface and Little Maddy Brown, who is drawn in the perfect spot in stall one, can take this. This five-year-old won over this course and distance on his debut last year and has also managed to win an Allowance race, again at this track, over six furlongs, whilst winning with any amount in hand to score by two lengths. That victory was on his latest start so with a similar showing he’ll be tough to beat.

4:04 pm Finger Lakes (Race 7) – Tapit Happy John +400

Tapit Happy John has only ever raced here at Finger Lakes and he finally managed to get his head in front on his penultimate start in a Maiden Special Weight and followed that up with a very good second in an Allowance race last time out so he will take some stopping in Race 7. After numerous second placed efforts this Chestnut Gelding won over a sprint trip back in May before finishing well to take second over six furlongs on his latest outing. Connections have now decided to step him up to a mile and a sixteenth which looks like it should be ideal and he could prove a tough nut to crack.

4:33 pm Finger Lakes (Race 8) – Clara’s Gone West +1500

The penultimate race at Finger Lakes is a $26,700 Allowance event for Fillies and Mares and longshot Clara’s Gone West can give a bold showing from the outside stall. This hardy seven-year-old mare has either won or finished in the first three in seventeen of her thirty-one career starts to date and remains in great form as recent efforts in this grade would suggest. In an open-looking contest I would want to be siding with a horse who will give you everything and that’s exactly what she will do so her double figure odds could represent some nice each-way value.

5:02 pm Finger Lakes (Race 9) – Zia Adelia +250

A competitive $32,100 Maiden Special Weight closes the card at Finger Lakes and I like the look of the horse in stall three, Zia Adelia, who has yet to win, but her latest run was also her best yet so it could only be a matter of time before she visits the winners’ circle. After failing to place in her first six starts she was a well beaten second of three two starts back before running a race full of promise over this course and distance last time out. She was only beaten half a length and it may be now that she is getting the hang of things and learning how to race so she could be a value play in this race.
