Tough Workout has shown solid form at this level in 2 starts for trainer Scott Lake, following a 5th over 6 furlongs with a 1 1/4 length 2nd in a mile contest at Parx last month. He attempted to make all prior to suffering a defeat in a 6-runner field.
He has a useful apprentice jockey booked today and with the slight drop in trip to 7 furlongs no issue, he looks capable of getting off the mark at the 11th time of asking.
1:51 pm ET Parx (Race 3) – Summary Judgment 2/1 (2-star play)
A dual winner, the son of Peace and Justice was claimed for $16,000 following a 4th-place finish when beaten 12 lengths over a mile at Aqueduct in early March. The change in stables and tracks immediately paid dividends when he won a similar race to this over 7 furlongs by 3 1/4 lengths on a sloppy track at Parx in April.
He is taken to complete a double with Kendrick Carmouche looking to improve on his impressive 32% strike-rate (17/53) at this meeting.
4:14 pm ET Parx (Race 8) – High Opinion 2/1 (2-star play)
An allowance race winner at Saratoga in July last year, this the Lemon Drop Kid mare has placed 3 times in Graded stakes contests since, including when beaten 3 lengths by Rougir in the Beaugay Stakes over this trip on a firm turf track at Belmont last month.
That effort sets the standard on form today and with a top jockey in Flavien Prat up, she looks capable of recording a victory on her first start at this venue.
