There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Sunday, including at Santa Anita race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time, up 264.35 units dating back to August 5.

Here are 3 runners we expect to perform well today. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.

3:30 pm Santa Anita (Race 1) – Edgeway 4/5

Delivered an all the way victory to defend her unbeaten record at this venue when taking the Listed Kalookan Queen Stakes by one-and-three-quarter-lengths over six-and-one-half-furlongs here at the start of January. Shorter distance here should prove no issue and having placed second in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at Del Mar last November she sets the standard on form and is taken to help jockey John Velazquez enhance his impressive 24% strike-rate (28/115) at this meeting.

5:34 pm Santa Anita (Race 5) – Thrive 6/5

Has demonstrated plenty of ability in maiden special weight contests including when finishing on the board three times here last year. Faded when debuting on turf having attempted to make all from a wide draw over six-and-one-half-furlongs here last month however. The return to the main track is a positive and while he has to prove his stamina here he is dropping markedly in grade and can provide owners Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and trainer Mike McCarthy with a winner.

6:06 pm Santa Anita (Race 6) – Royal Address 2/1

Registered three victories on turf in Europe as a two-year-old and while she was highly tried when first moving to the Neil Drysdale barn she has proven to be more competitive at this level of late including when finishing a neck second over this course and distance at the end of January. Advertised her wellbeing with a 48.40 four furlong work here on 9th March and looks capable of delivering a victory on her second start since returning to California.
