There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Monday, including at Parx race track. Here are three runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

3:10 pm Parx (Race 6) – Shahaada +300

Shahaada finished behind today’s rival Billieanne on racecourse debut at Parx last month, but  there was just a head between them, and that rival failed to improve on her next start. Shahaada ran better than the bare result suggests on her second racecourse visit, enduring a wide trip but staying on powerfully to challenge for the show. Stretching out to seven furlongs is a big positive, on that evidence, and the level of form she’s achieved thus far makes her the one to beat. She’s fancied to reverse the placings with Billieanne and graduate at the third time of asking.

4:04 pm Parx (Race 8) – Fore Harp +350

An $80,000 purchase as a yearling, this son of Weigelia made a very promising debut when second over six furlongs at Parx last month. He was ultimately unlucky to bump into a smart rival, attempting to make all the running before being collared early in the stretch. He pulled four lengths clear of the remainder and he’s entitled to have learned plenty from the experience. With natural improvement, he should have no problem overcoming a draw in gate eight to graduate at the second attempt.

4:31 pm Parx (Race 9) – I Am Redeemed +250

A son of Redeemed, he made a winning debut over track and distance in May. He made a bold bid to remain unbeaten on his first start against winners over the mile last time, finishing a close second behind an odds-on winner. That run was over the mile and his finishing effort was perhaps blunted by that trip, so a return to seven furlongs is in his favour. He takes a big drop in grade for today’s assignment and still totally unexposed for Penny Pearce, he can return to winning ways under Frankie Pennington.
