There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Saratoga race track. Here are five runners which we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

1:44pm Saratoga (Race 3) – Tuggle 6/5

The winner of a Belmont Park maiden special weight when making his debut in June 2019, the selection has made just the six starts since then placing in four of them including when runner-up having raced from off the pace in a six-furlong allowance event at the same circuit in June. Making his seasonal debut that day and with improvement expected can double his career tally with Irad Ortiz booked for the ride in this contest.

2:18pm Saratoga (Race 4) – Gold Panda 1/2

It’s hard to get past the likely short-price favourite in this maiden special weight. The son of Goldencents showed plenty of ability in finishing third in a six-and-one-half-furlong state-bred maiden special weight at Belmont Park on debut just under a month ago. Tackling more experienced rivals that day and with that run under his belt looks up to breaking his maiden at the second attempt following a 1:00.00 five-furlong work from the gate here earlier this month.

4:34pm Saratoga (Race 8) – Search Results 5/2

The selection suffered her only defeat in a five-race career when runner-up behind Malathaat in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs at the end of April. Chad Brown’s charge gained a top-level success of her own when a half-length winner of the Acorn Stakes over a mile at Belmont Park in early June. The shorter distance here should prove no issue and she can return from a short break with a victory.

5:10pm Saratoga (Race 9) – Bolshoi Ballet 2/1

Aidan O’Brien’s charge shaped like a live Epsom Derby contender when winning a couple of one-mile-two-furlong Group 3 events at Leopardstown in the sprint but having been sent off favourite he could finish only seventh in England’s feature race. The Galileo colt returned to winning ways when taking the Belmont Derby over one-mile-two-furlongs last month and he is taken to complete a New York double by taking this valuable Grade 1 contest with stable jockey Ryan Moore in the saddle.

5:48pm Saratoga (Race 10) – Knicks Go 6/5

The winner of the valuable Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes at Gulfstream Park in January the five-year-old finished fourth in both the Saudi Cup and the Metropolitan Handicap subsequently. A drop in grade saw the son of Paynter return to winning ways in the Grade 3 Cornhusker Handicap at Prairie Meadows at the start of last month and over the same one-mile-and-one-eighth distance here he can get the better of Maxfield to register a third victory of the year.
