There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Saratoga race track. Here are five runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

1:41 pm Saratoga (Race 2) – Repo Rocks +100

The son of Tapiture displayed plenty of ability in maiden special weight and maiden claiming company placing four times prior to finally breaking his maiden by one-and-three-quarter lengths in a six-and-one-half furlong event at Belmont Park last month. Raced prominently that day and should be able to employ similar tactics stepping up in grade. Looks capable of delivering a victory here having shown a liking for this track when running well in a couple of maiden races last August.

3:23 pm Saratoga (Race 5) – Chattalot +180

The unraced son of Midnight Lute is bred to be a useful individual and having joined the powerful Steve Asmussen barn he looks capable of delivering a victory first up. The selection clocked a couple of impressive breezes from the gate over four furlongs at Keeneland last month and while his recent works have been much less impressive he has a good jockey up in Ricard Santana and can overcome a wide draw to get off the mark at the first attempt.

5:03 pm Saratoga (Race 8) – Mahaamel +250

Confirmed the promise of his debut second in a maiden special weight over seven furlongs at Belmont Park in April when delivering an impressive three-and-a-quarter length victory in a similar contest over the same track and trip early last month. Made all on that occasion and while he’s likely to find it tougher to employ those tactics from a wide post position he is open to improvement and can complete a double with John Velazquez up.

5:40 pm Saratoga (Race 9) – Wit +160

The Todd Pletcher barn unleashed a useful looking individual when the selection broke his maiden by six lengths at the first time of asking in a five-and-one-half furlong maiden special weight at Belmont Park early last month. Showed inexperience at the start that day but ultimate delivered an impressive success and drawn one here is taken to maintain his unbeaten record for a trainer who’s won this race seven times in the past most recently with Sombeyay two years ago.

6:16 pm Saratoga (Race 10) – Summer Romance +400

The feature race on the card can go to Charlie Appleby’s runner who had to give best to today’s rival Althiqa when the pair met in the Just A Game Stakes at Belmont Park last month. That marked the selections first US start and she can reverse that form with the extra furlong a positive with regards her chances having impressed when winning the Group 2 Balanchine Stakes over this trip at Meydan in February on her penultimate start.
